Steel Hearts

Poetrypumpkinhead writes "Their eyes were hollow and their hearts were of steel,
how did she think they were her friends, for real?

Out of sight and out of mind, they don't see her pain,
for they are but blind and the excuse is but lame.

Blind to the fact that she still cares, but they are faceless and unable to stare.
Stare back at her with unsmiling faces, memories are gone, for they are erased.

Erased forever and gone like the wind, smothered in fog, who again is Lin?

Working robots with no time to goof off, no time to listen, no time to talk.
No time to talk to their former friend, for she is the past and all things must end.

End it sure did, tightly wrapped like a mummy, for she is a fool and feels like a dummy!

Suffication and disease took over the lot, now it smells putrid, as it begins to rot!

Rot and decay take over the air, eyes without a face, return her smiling stare.
